Probity Advisors Adds Financial Advisor and Celebrates Ten-Year Service Anniversaries of Two Employees.

Whitney Magers joins Probity Advisors, Inc.®, and Christopher Sorrow and Adam Bronson celebrate ten years with the firm

DALLAS, TX, July 27, 2012 – Financial advisor Whitney Magers has joined Probity Advisors, Inc.®, bringing more than 15 years experience to the firm’s financial and estate planning practice. As Financial Advisor, Magers guides clients in decisions that promote estate preservation and investment growth. In addition, he provides retirement income planning and risk management guidance.

Magers’s commitment to helping individuals, families and businesses plan for and achieve their financial goals aligns well with Probity’s mission to deliver integrated wealth management strategies that include financial and investment planning, tax planning and custom portfolio management.

While new to the company, Magers has known one of Probity’s founding partners, Porter L. “Buddy” Ozanne, and Buddy’s family since childhood. He lived on the same Park Cities street as the Ozanne family and attended school with Buddy’s sons, including Sloan, a technology consultant, and Tyler, who also works with the company.

“I am very pleased to join such a well-respected, talent-rich firm that shares my core values. By joining Probity, I am able to offer clients a more comprehensive range of services and capabilities that, in my opinion, truly exceed that of other wealth advisory firms in the industry.” said Magers. “Since I have known Buddy and Tyler for most of my life, working alongside them is like working with family.”

For Buddy Ozanne, the feeling is mutual, “This is a very exciting time for our firm as Whitney’s contributions will help facilitate our growth while allowing us to provide the same high level of service our company has been providing for the past 60 years. Whitney’s extensive experience complements our distinctive approach to holistic wealth management. He shares our firm’s belief that our clients’ interests come first, and that our role as advisors is to guide clients through the planning and implementation phases of wealth management, while providing sound and ethical advice.” Ozanne added, “We are delighted to welcome this talented new member to our team.”

Magers earned a degree in finance from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, and he is a graduate of Highland Park High School in Dallas. Magers is active in several Dallas charitable and community organizations and is a frequent guest speaker for non-profit groups on estate planning topics and charitable giving. He is a board member and former president of the Calyx Club, and he is an avid cyclist who can often be seen cycling around White Rock Lake. Magers launched his career in the investment banking industry, working in New York and in San Francisco prior to transitioning to wealth management. He currently resides in Dallas with his wife, Mary, and their five-month old daughter.

As the firm welcomes Magers as its newest associate, Probity Advisors also celebrates the ten-year service anniversaries of two of its employees who each joined the firm in July 2002: Vice President Christopher Sorrow and Associate Portfolio Manager Adam Bronson.

Sorrow oversees the macroeconomic analysis and research that inform the firm’s investment decisions. He also leads Probity’s compliance department. Sorrow earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma honor society for his academic achievement during graduate school. He has been named a Dallas-Fort Worth FIVE STAR Wealth Manager for the past three consecutive years. Sorrow graduated magna cum laude from the University of Rochester in New York with a bachelor’s degree in economics. Prior to joining Probity, he advised hedge funds on mergers and acquisitions as an analyst at an economic consulting firm in Washington, DC. Sorrow is a competitive triathlete and has completed three Ironman-distance (140.6 mile) triathlons.

Bronson is responsible for implementation of the firm’s investment strategies and for managing its trading platform. He grew up in Fort Worth, TX, and attended SMU on a full academic scholarship, graduating cum laude from the honors program with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He is involved with multiple local social and community service organizations and enjoys playing tennis and golf and spending time with his wife, Kate, and their two-year-old son. Both Bronson and Sorrow hold the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
